English Version - OPEN ACCESS Quantum systems open up a world of completely new possibilities for industry and society. Photonics plays a central role as a key technology for the commercialization of quantum systems and complements the diverse and innovative sector with another field of application with great potential. A new market report shows that the world market for quantum systems is expected to increase sixfold by 2030 and reach a value of 2.33 billion euros per year. These figures only include the hardware, plus software and services, such as computing-as-a-service, which could increase the market by a factor of three to four. It is to be expected that the manufacturers of basic photonic technologies for quantum systems will then generate an additional annual turnover of 530 million euros by 2030.                                                      -------- This report was made in collaboration and for SPECTARIS, DE and released in April 2022.
